Radiance

Diamonds of the First Water Book Four

Radiance book coverRadiance — A fiery-haired Diamond daughter sets her cap at this man of science… and he doesn’t stand a chance!

She’s a gifted artisan with sparkle to spare, and he’s a preoccupied man of science.

At Prince Albert’s Great Exhibition, Lady Radiance Diamond falls in love… with gemstones! Jewelry-making becomes her passion, fashioning trinkets as dazzling as her own personality. Yet when an attractive geologist snags her fancy in the lecture hall, she wonders what it will take to catch his eye in the ballroom.

Edward Lockwood has traveled the world, not afraid to scrabble in the muck if it means coming home with precious stones. Charged by Queen Victoria with a most delicate undertaking, he’s bemused to be partnered with a fiery-haired, quick-witted earl’s daughter. An intriguing union, as long as she doesn’t distract him!

With the royal mission growing ever more perilous, Edward keeps his focus on sparkling emeralds over emerald-green eyes and on red rubies rather than ruby-red lips. But Radiance wasn’t bred to be ignored or to step aside. In the world of London’s skilled jewelers—and treacherous thieves—can she unmask an expert forger while showing her dash-fire geologist she’s the most precious gemstone he’s ever held?

Reviews from Other Authors and from Readers

This is the best entry in the series, and one of my favorite books by this author. I enjoyed both of the MC’s and the plot. Edward and Radiance are perfect together.

I have to give a special shout out to Edward, dashing but absentminded globe-trotter/academic, my book boyfriend for the next few days, at least. (Yes, be still my nerdy, Indiana-Jones-loving heart.)

The mystery is well-plotted, and the research and writing are top-notch. The dialog and mores are realistic for the time period.”

And the fourth Diamond finds love. Radiance has a hobby that has become her passion, the fine art of jewelry making. Attending lectures on the topics of gemstones her path crosses that of the lecturer Edward Lockwood. Although his handsomeness is very distracting, Edward is more focus on his gems than the beauty sitting front and center in the lecture hall, but she is unforgettable and keeps sneaking into his thoughts. When a command audience to see the Queen has them working together to solve a mystery surrounding not one but two fake gems found with the Royal jewels. The close working conditions has the spark bursting into a flame.
Love the development of the characters. Edward with his absentmindedness and Radiance with her determination to not be excluded.
