“By seeing London, I have seen as much of life as the world can show.” – Samuel Johnson.
“I like the spirit of this great London which I feel around me.” – Charlotte Brontë

Greetings, dear reader. I read many histroms over the course of a year, easily the majority of which are set in London. Sometimes, it seems as if no other place existed in Regency or Victorian England.
As a writer, I find it immensely satisfying to research a “new” place and let the setting become almost like another character. Brighton and Paris were two cities that nearly took over the story. And there was so much I more I wanted to share about each place but had to leave out.
Thank you very much for taking the time. Please feel free to share this page with a friend. Now let’s give Lord Byron the last word:
“A mighty mass of brick, and smoke, and shipping, / Dirty and dusty, but as wide as eye / Could reach, with here and there a sail just skipping / In sight, then lost amidst the forestry / Of masts; a wilderness of steeples peeping / On tiptoe through their sea-coal canopy; / A huge, dun cupola, like a foolscap crown / On a fool’s head – and there is London Town.” – Lord Byron
Best wishes!
